SIGN conference
Ms. Jeanne Dillner started the Conference with series of greetings in different languages to around 70 participants from almost 20 countries. I was glad to see Vietnamese on the screen.
Dr. Linh presented at 8:40. He had 15 minutes for the presentation and the last 5 minutes for discussion. I saw many other Doctors reach him after his speech and also at lunch as they are very much interested in the topic of Legs lengthening over nails.
All activities are arranged continuously, starting from 7am for breakfast, then presentations of different Doctors and workshop, then lunch at around 12:30pm, then presentations, then dinner at 5pm. We are picked up and dropped off at the guest house of PNNL regularly everyday. There are not many people living here in Richland. There is not much traffic. You will hardly see a taxi running. There are no shops along the street around the conference area. We had to drive 15 minutes to reach a supermarket.
On the night of the second day, SIGN arranged for us to the Fair and Rodeo, 45 minute drive from SIGN head quarter. It was very interesting to see the cowboys and cowgirls riding horses, children riding sheep competition. The championship belonged to a 5 year-old girl who did not fall from the sheep after a regulated time. The bonus is 200USD, I heard. I also walked around the fair to see how American enjoyed their time here. It was really excited. I kept yawning as I slept only 3 hours the previous night. I can chit and chat with you guys for only 45 minutes every day since the time is different and I am too tired after the whole day running around at the conference. The VAIO is really a burden as I had to carry it along during waiting hours at the airports but very helpful now as my dears can see me very clearly and talk with me via Skype.
I was also very happy to involve in the job with SIGN even though they just want me to be a guest. The staffs are very open and enthusiastic. Here I can meet Stephanie - the communicationist who I just kept emailing back and forth, Jeniffer - Executive Assistant (to Jeanne), Bob - IT whose whole family volunteer picking up people at the airport and taking them around.
Until this morning, I can get rid of tiredness after a long flight and 2 nights of little sleep. I am OK now and going to continue with the job as a coordinator for the activities of the ladies (Doctors' spouse) tomorrow noon as Jeanne asked me to help. I must say goodbye now. See you later with more information. Bibi.
