Sapa

Sapa is an incredibly picturesque village that lies on the Hoang Lien Son mountain range near the Chinese border in North West Vietnam. It is called "the Tonkinese Alps". You can see many hill tribe people, their villages, rice terraces, lush vegetation and Fansipan - the highest peak in Vietnam.
We 3 couples went there for only 2 days, March 2006. It was really an unforgetable trip. We enjoyed good food (the first time to have dishes prepared from Sapa fresh salmon), met interesting people, visited nice places (Thác Bạc, Hàm Rồng mountain & villages), took many photos with the ethnic minority children...
The pic of mine above was taken by the Cloud Stream Chinese restaurant where we had a really funny lunch before leaving for Lào Cai. I remember giving comments and advices to the owner (a Chinese young man) about the service (mấy khi được nổ thế).
Feel missed you all a lot now. Don't know when we can go on such a holiday again, my dear?
